Important Announcement https://crackthefatcode.com/important-announcement/ https://crackthefatcode.com/important-announcement/#respond Tue, 24 Dec 2019 17:48:56 +0000 https://crackthefatcode.com/?p=2113 I should have likely done this sooner…

Ok, things are changing and I got a few questions that made me realize I have done this wrong, or possibly wrong. Jimmy W. is my business partner and wrote 80% of the original articles here. Because he has other obligations (and didn’t need to lose nearly as much weight as me). I of course wrote the other articles.

Since we decided I would take over Crack The Fat Code. So far so good… Except…

Yes I did take down the 500+ articles that Jimmy and I previously had written/posted over the years. Part of the reason I did this is many of the videos we posted were just the video and not much content to go with it, and I felt it was best to just work through them and pick the best ones or ones that were actually had good content to go with them.

This is good because Jimmy and I had built a plugin about a year ago that would published videos we liked and videos we posted a link for into the plugin and voilà a new post was created very easily. I hate to admit this but we abused that a little and both of us got a little lazy about actually writing articles.

So the new goal is to work through all the posts which are in draft and clean up the articles we wrote, and write articles where we had only the video.

I will also be doing a lot of design changes till I find something I like. I will also have a ton of giveaways 😉

I’m sure Jimmy will pop in from time to time with a new article or to help me work through the back log but as of right now the goal is to have me do the majority of the new stuff and try out the different methods and report back.

Leave a comment and let me know how you feel about the changes.

Talk soon
-Spencer

PS I was asked a few times if I was the guy in the picture/video… No… I will post my stuff pretty soon when I re-write the about page and get an profile pic for myself.

Volume Eating for Weight Loss! (explicit) https://crackthefatcode.com/volume-eating-for-weight-loss-explicit/ https://crackthefatcode.com/volume-eating-for-weight-loss-explicit/#respond Fri, 20 Dec 2019 13:45:54 +0000 https://crackthefatcode.com/?p=1764

Joe Delaney shows us something I have not thought about much, but it makes complete and utter sense. Warning there is some cursing in this video so if you watch be prepared Delaney is like a sailor.

So here is the deal you and I know we like to eat. And if you are telling me you don’t or something silly like that, then why are you reading this site? You should be as skinny as a rail! I know I like to eat till I’m bursting at the seams.

But I also know we like the full flavor of a nice fatty steak with salt. Lovely sweets with icing. Like can we dip the sugar in sugar already…. Somehow that reminds me fo the steak I made a few weeks ago I took half a stick of butter and melted it right over the top of that thing in the last few moments of cooking.

Before I make you even more hungry… Back to the point. You can skip the workout montage if you are not into that. The salad he makes around 8 min 15 sec in is so huge… and frankly, it looks freaking amazing.

3 LBS of food for around 650 calories. Volume eating for the save. I’m going to give this a real shot tomorrow. I recommend you do the same!

If this is something that seems feasible then I will post more about it. Just leave a comment below to let me know what you think.

The Simple Method to Burn Fat Explained https://crackthefatcode.com/the-simple-method-to-burn-fat-explained/ https://crackthefatcode.com/the-simple-method-to-burn-fat-explained/#respond Sun, 08 Dec 2019 05:42:57 +0000 https://crackthefatcode.com/?p=1735

In this video, Dr. Berg DC is going to tell us about the simplicity of how our bodies burn fat. To do this, he is using batteries. That’s right; we can understand the simplicity of why people can’t lose weight using simple batteries. On-screen, you will see a large car battery, a large flashlight battery, and a small flashlight battery. If we make these batteries equivalent to your fat:

“an average person who is not overweight is carrying around about 100,000 calories of potential energy. A person that is overweight or obese is carrying at least double that; 200,000 calories.”

Dr. Berg DC

So if that larger battery is fat, then the smaller battery is glycogen. In Dr. Berg’s example, he is saying that we have around 28 lbs of fat. This smaller storage of energy is faster to access and has roughly 1,700 calories of potential energy. Last the tiny battery, which is carrying around about 15 calories, represents the sugar in your blood, which would be around four grams typically.

Dr. Berg goes on to say this is a representation and that:

“the average person is consuming a lot more than that, but these are the three types of fuels that you’re actually running your body on.”

Dr. Berg DC

This is where things get interesting. We are shown something I think we all ‘know’ or have learned at some point but somehow have forgotten. Most of us never get a chance to burn the energy in our storage system because we are eating too much and too often. Compound that with the fact that we are eating the wrong foods!

Did anyone read The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss? Remember slow carbs? The idea is that high fiber foods lock up the glucose in our digestive system for longer, letting our bodies have time to access the energy as they were designed. Slowly!!! But all the refined sugars and carbs that we eat in our current diet is the exact opposite. The energy is accessible almost instantly as our bodies pump out the insulin in response to the higher blood sugar levels.

Click here to visit Amazon and get The 4-Hour Body

What happens next is called insulin resistance, and we all know after that is the much-feared diabetes. But you have a chance to change things!

You can tap into the fat for energy and reverse the damage done by the insulin spikes you have no doubt been experiencing your entire life!

Next, Dr. Berg tells us something very interesting. For some people, it will take a month, but for others, the repair could take much longer if the damage is extensive. You undoubtedly have been abusing the easy to access energy in the form of glucose aka carbs, aka sugar for most of your life and now you are in danger. Like most of the people in the modern world, we have a diet rich in these insulin spiking destructive foods. And now it will take your body longer to heal and reverse the damage done by so many years of poor eating.

You might be asking what to do from here, but like what Dr. Berg says to do in his video. “Listen to your body.” If you are feeling your energy going up and your cravings and hunger going down, then you are on the right track.

But you might be asking, “HOW? How do I get on the right track?

To me, it seems obvious. Keto and intermittent fasting are obvious solutions. However, depending on if you are a man or a woman. Your needs will be a little different.

Ok, crucify me now… I did the thing everyone is saying is the worst thing you can do in today’s age. I said men and women are different… But guess what the newest science is saying just that and I have different resources to help you on your path to weight loss depending on if you are a man or a woman.

I found this program for the ladies out there that looks very promising it was designed by a woman and tested by her so you can be sure it works. It is called the Cinderella Solution “by a woman for women” if you want to watch the introductory video

However, if you are a reader and would rather read about it then –

If you get the program, I would love to hear your feedback and know how it worked for you.

Men. We have a few more options in this space than the ladies. Make sure you support your ladies in their journeys and don’t force them to follow your routine. Something to keep in mind is that women have different biologic needs, and therefore, it is very important to allow them the space they need.

I have 2 different options for the men depending on what you are looking for:

1st up, we have the 28 Day Keto Challenge! Click here: 28 Day Keto Challenge

2nd is the Custom Keto Diet. Click here: Custom Keto Diet Plan

The second option is more about fine-tuning a system to fit your exact needs while 28 Day Keto is a great little plan that makes getting on and sticking to keto very easy. Even if you do not choose to use one of these plans. Please start something and get on that path to health. It is the only way we can Crack the Fat Code is to start something and figure out if it works.

Rid SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth) with Intermittent Fasting https://crackthefatcode.com/rid-sibo-small-intestinal-bacteria-overgrowth-with-intermittent-fasting/ https://crackthefatcode.com/rid-sibo-small-intestinal-bacteria-overgrowth-with-intermittent-fasting/#comments Sun, 08 Dec 2019 00:06:00 +0000 https://crackthefatcode.com/?p=816 What is SIBO?

Hey, Today, Dr. Berg is telling us about SIBO. What is SIBO? Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Normally your small intestine contains the right mix of bacteria in the right quantities, but during SIBO, the bacteria population explodes! Normally this bacterial would be located in your large intestine, but being in your small intestine causes a ton of issues. Fermentation, gas, bloating, and general discomfort. The funny thing is eating fiber “to clear things out” would actually make the matter much worse as you would be feeding the microbes that have caused the problem in the first place! Every probiotic you eat is going to make the situation much worse. Worse gas. Worse bloating. Worse pain.

“There’s something called migratory motor complex. What is that? Well, this is a system in your body that acts like a house cleaning, like a broom cleaning up all the leftover foods and bacteria.”

Dr. Berg DC

I was really surprised by the next part. Our bodies are on a 90 min cycle, and through this process of the migratory motor complex, we literally “push” the food and the leftover bits down the line to the next phase of our large intestine. Amazing! But this process is controlled by two things first we hear about motilin, and next, we hear about bile salts. I have read about bile salts in the past, but motilin was something I needed to look up. It’s rather simple as it is just a hormone that helps tell our bodies how to process our foods and when. Dr. Berg kind of skips over it here because the real issue he wants to talk about is the bile salts.

[some foods should not be fully processed int he small intestines such as some fibers]

We learn the bile salts are made in the liver and not in the gallbladder. I was surprised by this, but they are only stored in the gallbladder until they are needed. Once needed around 4 to 6 grams are released into the small intestine. Once in there, they are used to do a whole host of things!

These bile salts that sound so gross help us a ton.

Bile salts get rid of excess cholesterol. Bile salts help us absorb fat-soluble vitamins. And they also do something essential to SIBO, which we are talking about today. They help kill Bacteria! If you don’t have enough bile salts. Or you are not releasing enough during each meal you eat. Then you are going to have a massive disruption in your digestion. Potential causes of not releasing enough bile salts are fatty liver, liver damage, or maybe you don’t even have your gallbladder!

Even more surprising than all that is our bodies reuse up to 90% of the bile.

So far, we have learned that the bile salts are pretty crucial to the process of digestion, but what about that migratory motor complex? And how does this all fit together? See, the thing is, as you are eating, this is all happening, but when you are not eating, this is still happening. So in our lives where we typically eat 3 square meals and some people, often many people are eating so much more such as multi meal diets, snacks, and just mindless eating. We are actually eating way too often to allow our own system to clear itself out. Remember, the bile is killing bacteria. So when you are eating, the bile is killing the bacteria in the food, but when you are not eating, the bile is helping to control the bacteria in your small intestine and helping get rid of SIBO!

The Ways We Can Help

In your food, there are microbes, and there could be viruses, fungus, and yeasts. The bile salts help control these things. But we can’t rely 100% on them. We also need our stomach acid to help us out. One of the things we can do is increase our stomach acid, Dr. Berg mentions betaine hydrochloride and outside of vinegar, and I will post a video and article on this at some point.

Now, if you are low on bile salts or have liver problems, you can take purified bile salts. Dr. Berg goes on to make some suggestions for treatment including acupressure, and other autonomic based treatments. Currently, I don’t know how I feel about this, so I will let you do your own research.

Along the same lines as the acupressure, you can do something similar to yourself by just massaging the area with your hand. To locate the right spot, you only apply a little pressure on your right side roughly halfway up from your belly button to the bottom of your ribs. You might be able to feel it with some discomfort if your valve is having issues or inflamed. Just massage this area until you know it relaxes.

Dr. Berg gave us some clear steps on what we can do here:

  1. Intermittent fasting
  2. Take bile salts (consult a doctor if you are unsure)
  3. Acidify the stomach using betaine hydrochloride or outside of vinegar
  4. Try natural antibiotics such as garlic, clove, oregano, and thyme
  5. Try the massaging your ileocecal valve

Talks about what causes us to have emotions. He presents 4 ideas on where emotions come from and then makes a decently formed argument for the reason that 1 is right over the other.

During this video we are introduced to the book How Emotions Are Made by Lisa Feldman Barret. She contends that we should be looking at data and not rely so much on the classical view of emotions. This makes a ton of sense and I look forward to reading her book to understand this better.
